Impasto wallpapers · Painted, not photographed
ATELIERNoir
Eleven paintings in thick oil, laid on with a palette knife and lit from the side. Cut for the screens you actually use, from $7 a set.
Room I
Paint you can see the depth of
Every surface is laid down with a knife, ridge by ridge, then lit from the side so the shadows are real.
Room II
Eleven of them
Two collections — The Sayings, which are mostly words, and The Good Life, which is mostly objects. Painted as sets, released as sets.
Room III
Every screen you own
Each work is composed again for each shape, from phone to ultrawide. One archive, one payment.
Eleven works,
knife on linen
Each one is cut for the screen it is going on — laptop, desktop, tablet, phone — and composed for that shape rather than squeezed into it.
On the desk
Mom.
The loudest thing here. Best on a screen you want people to look at.
Two collections,
or all eleven
Nothing is sold on its own. A set comes whole — every work in it, at every size, delivered as one archive.
Words, laid on thick
The Sayings
Everything here is mostly text and entirely attitude — dripped across a newspaper, torn onto navy, scrawled over a dial that cost more than the year it is complaining about. These are the ones people photograph off your screen.
Objects, and the people who keep them
The Good Life
Things that cost money, and the ease of having them. A hooded falcon riding in the back of a Rolls, a Ferrari on straps above a marina, cases already scratched, a courtyard full of people who all know each other.
Everything
The Complete Collection
Both sets — every work in the house, at every size — and everything painted in the next twelve months as it is released, at no extra cost.

Composed for each shape
A tall phone and a wide desktop are not the same picture with different edges. Each size is framed on its own so the subject sits where it should, and nothing important ends up under a clock.
No compression
Delivered as PNG at full bit depth. Impasto lives in the shadow between two ridges, and that is the first thing a JPEG throws away.
Yours, permanently
One payment. Use them on every device you own, for as long as you own it. No subscription, no account, no expiry.
Questions
What am I actually buying?
The work itself, as a file, at every size in the list. These are impasto paintings — paint laid on thick with a knife and lit from one side, so the ridges throw real shadows. What you see on this site is the work, not a rendering of it or a photograph of something else.
Will it look right on my screen?
Every size in the list is included, and each one is composed on its own rather than cropped down from a single master — so the subject sits where it should whether the screen is tall or very wide. If yours is an unusual shape, say so at checkout and it will be cut for you at no extra cost.
How do I get the files?
A download link, immediately, to the address you give at checkout. No account to make and nothing to install. The link does not expire.
Can I use these commercially?
On any screen you own, personally, always. For anything else — a product, a client's brand, a printed surface, or training a model — write to us first. The answer is often yes and it is always cheap.
Can I get a refund?
No. These are files, and once the download link is sent there is no way to un-send them — so every sale is final, and we would rather say that here than bury it in a policy. What you can do instead is look properly first: every surface has its own page showing the paint at full size, and the loupe rakes a light across the actual file you would be buying. Nothing on this site is a mock-up of something else.
What if a set is wrong for my screen?
Write to us and we will fix it, at no charge. If the ratio is unusual, the surface gets painted again for your exact screen. If you simply picked the wrong collection, we will swap it. Neither costs anything and neither needs a reason — that is the part we can actually put right.

Four letters a year,
one for each release
Written by hand, sent the week before a work is offered. Collectors on the list see everything first, and nothing else is ever sent.
